TROY administrator speaks on U.S. reaction to Syria chemical attack

April 13, 2017

The U.S. airstrike on Syria’s Shayrat airbase last Friday has dominated national news headlines.

The strike, which involved 59 Tomahawk missiles fired at the airbase, was a response to a chemical attack believed to be launched by Syrian President Bashar Assad that left more than 80 people dead in northwestern Syria.

Maj. Gen. Walter Givhan, Troy University’s Senior Vice Chancellor for Advancement and Economic Development, recently appeared on TRT World, a channel of the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation, to discuss the U.S. response to the attack and what the future may hold in the region.
